PGN (Portable Game Notation) Taşınabilir Oyun Notasyonu .Oyunları notasyonları ile birlikte izlemeye yada database olusturmaya yarayan bir bilgisayar program formatıdır. Chessbase ürünlerinden biri ile (Chessbase 9,Fritz, Shredder ,Junior, chessbaselight) pgn dosyaları açılarak daha önce oynanmış oyunlar izlenip analiz edilebilir.Bu şekildeki bir çalışma satrancın gelişmesi açısından faydalı olur.

Pek çok satranç programı PGN formatındaki dosyaların açılmasını destekler.
